Take My Wallet, Take My Keys, but Don’t Take My Laptop!

Looking to heist a laptop? Don’t steal from a law student. You can take their wallet, their keys, or likely anything else, but taking their laptop could land you with a severe beating, some stitches, a criminal record, and a nice mug shot.

Alex Botsios, a student at Arizona State University School of Law, was burglarized by Gabriel Saucedo last week at his Arizona apartment. Armed with a baseball bat, Saucedo threatened to bash the students head in and began taking his wallet and guitars. Next, Saucedo made a crucial mistake; he attempted to take Botsios laptop computer which contained months of hard work. Enraged by the potential of losing his laptop, Botsios wrestled the bat from the burglar and repeatedly punched him in the face before the police arrived. In the words of Charlie Sheen, “Winning!”

First of all, who burglarizes an apartment with a baseball bat? Isn’t that supposed to be the defense mechanism for the unsuspecting resident? Second, talk about a kid dedicated to his law school education. The article alludes to the student being a 1L, which makes more sense, had this been a 3L, there would be no notes, and all of the outlines would be commercial outlines anyways, they wouldn’t care.

What would you do for your laptop?

First time this bullshit story was reported it was not “last week” in 2011 but in 2008. It has no credible source except the blogs of Right-wing morons and their dupes. Did not happen.
